Cultural education at PLT
Theatre is part of good education.
Art and culture are not a luxury, but desperately needed. Theatre helps young people look at the world differently, stimulates their imagination and gives them a voice. At a time when creativity and critical thinking are increasingly important, theatre is a valuable learning experience.
Our cultural education offer
From colourful youth performances to in-depth theatre with workshops or follow-up talks, our offer connects with different ages and levels. We work with schools to make culture accessible to all.
Whether you are looking for a first introduction to theatre or a more in-depth addition to your curriculum: PLT is the place to be.
Primary education
A varied programme of drama, dance, puppet theatre and music, tailored to the child's age. Where necessary, we arrange transport. Thanks to the support of the Friends of PLT, a visit is possible from just €4 per pupil.
Secondary education
A comprehensive programme of performances, tours and activities that teach young people to think creatively and critically.
For students
Whether you opt for a performance with an afterthought, a look behind the scenes or an interactive workshop: theatre connects surprisingly well with what you learn and do at school.
The Friends of PLT make cultural education possible
Thanks to contributions from the Friends of PLT, we were able to significantly expand our education programmes last year. More and more schools from Parkstad participate, and together with the Toon Hermans Theatre we ensure that thousands of children in South and Central Limburg are introduced to theatre during their school years.
We offer a tailor-made programme for all ages and levels. Pupils step briefly into another world - full of imagination, wonder and new perspectives. They learn to look, listen, feel and think. Theatre lets them experience that there is more than one way to look at yourself and the world around you.
This is how we contribute to their personal development and to how we live together. Because experiencing theatre is practising for the future.
Last-Minute discount for students
With our Last-Minute system, students and pupils get a discount on tickets for performances and concerts in PLT. For a large number of performances in our programme, you pay € 12.50 per ticket on presentation of your school or student ID card. Be quick though, because gone = gone!
