Primary Education: step into the world of imagination
PLT's dream is for all children in South and Central Limburg to come into contact with theatre. During a visit to a theatre performance, children briefly step into another world, that of experience and imagination. They discover that theatre surprises, challenges, chuffs and amuses. They also learn that there are multiple ways of looking at themselves and others. These are incredibly important skills for forming one's identity.
Performances for primary schools

Together with a friendly girl, he goes on a journey. Along the way, he gets to know his emotions better and better.
The Colour Monster, based on the well-known picture book by Anna Llenas, is a wordless performance full of colour, fantasy and homemade puppets. A moving journey about emotions, friendship and discovering yourself.

SALLY
A playful dance adventure for real temper tantrums.
The boy in Fierce is angry. Very angry. Since his parents split up, everything seems different. His anger pops out in wild movements, intense emotions and energetic dancing.
But behind that tantrum also lies sadness and longing. With spectacular and playful dance, he tries to make the world the way it used to be. A recognisable performance about being angry, changing and feeling everything at the same time.

A slapstick comedy full of chases, merry fights and friendship from unexpected quarters
When mouse Sjef's tree is cut down, he flees to a log cabin in the forest. Only: that cabin belongs to woodcutter Beech. And she wants to get rid of the mouse as soon as possible. When Owl also interferes, everything gets completely out of hand.
Beech is a physical and cartoon-like performance full of comic fights, wild chases and spectacular falls. But also a heartwarming story about friendship, nature and living together.

Sawing, gluing, drilling and dancing in the middle of a cheerful DIY world. Because did you know that pipes make music too?
BOUT! is an interactive dance performance in which pupils build, move and work together to make everything work again. With a banging finale: one big chain reaction.

A recognisable performance about making choices, lying and staying yourself.
Pinocchio sets off into the world and ends up going from one adventure to another. Along the way, she meets new friends who promise her all kinds of things. But who can you really trust?
Again and again, Pinokkio has to choose: do you go for convenience and pleasure, or do what is right? A topical performance about temptation, responsibility and learning to think with your own head.

A musical and surprising retelling of well-known fairy tales.
In Girls & Princes, girls, princes, frogs and kings walk around with big dreams and awkward expectations. After all, life turns out to be less fairytale-like than imagined.
Based on the stories by Annet Schaap, with live music by six singers of the Nederlandse Bachvereniging. An imaginative performance about growing up, longing and daring to be yourself.

Philzuid
A musical performance about listening, feeling and daring to let yourself be heard.
Mijs is not comfortable in her own skin. She thinks no one understands her and gets increasingly entangled in her feelings. Until an extraordinary woman takes her on a journey through music from all over the world.
Together with the musicians of Philzuid, Mijs discovers how music can help her understand her feelings and express herself. A moving performance in which children listen, participate and discover her own power together with Mijs.

Alice in Wonderland

A next-level theatre adventure full of dance, music and visual magic.
It's still easy being Alice. Her parents are on her neck all day, her sisters judge her every move she makes. Her prepubescent besties think everything is 'cringe'. Alice never gets to find anything for herself. So she disappears into Wonderland, her game, in which she does have the lead role. Can you beat Wonderland?
In Wonderland, new rules apply, and nothing is what it seems. The White Rabbit races through a maze of levels. The Hatter challenges Alice to a game without rules. And the Queen of Hearts? Who awaits her as the final boss in the final battle. To get to the next level, must Alice solve puzzles, perform strange tasks and decipher Wonderland's logic? Or should she instead rebel against Wonderland and make her own rules?
Be enchanted by this contemporary Alice in Wonderland: relatable, funny and irresistibly wonderful.

What makes you who you are? And what about your less beautiful side? Which strange qualities would you dare to magnify in a cartoon?

A dazzling performance about a head that just won't shut up.
In Stiltestorm, you and your class step into the world of one young character in the middle of a day full of stimuli, noise and expectations. Everything races through each other: from a busy schoolyard to an exploding group app.
With music, dance and acting, the musicians, dancers and actors make thoughts and feelings visible. So you feel up close what it is like when your head is overflowing and you long for peace and quiet.
A recognisable and visual performance about overstimulation, silence and discovering your needs.

Witch Hunting

Witch Hunting is a powerful dance performance about identity, peer pressure and wanting to belong.
Six dancers with different styles - from krump and popping to African dance - each seek their own place within the group. Sometimes they clash, sometimes they reinforce each other. To rousing music, a play of influence, difference and connection emerges.
An energetic and poetic performance that makes pupils reflect on themes such as exclusion, togetherness and daring to be yourself.

More than performances
At PLT, cultural education is all about doing, discovering and experiencing. Besides school performances, we offer programmes in which pupils experience theatre for themselves. They stand on stage, go backstage and discover what it takes to put on a performance.
Stage heroes
How does it feel to stand on a real stage?
Pupils are welcomed as performers. They rehearse a song beforehand in class and come to the theatre for their own performance. Including dressing room and sound check.
They learn to be daring, to work together and to be proud of what they produce together.

Theatre discovery tour
Together with Miss Ophelia, pupils discover theatre. They get behind the scenes and find unusual objects. They play roles within the story, explore backstage spaces and create their own shadow play. This way, they experience how a performance is created, how light and shadow work and how to present something in front of a group.
Duration: 1 hour
Price: €110 per class (± €4.40 per pupil with 25 pupils)
For: Group 3/4 - Discovery and imagination
Backstage tour
Pupils delve into how theatre is made. They explore the building, work with a short play text and perform a scene themselves. Meanwhile, they experiment with light and shadow. They learn to work together, take responsibility and discover how text comes to life on stage.
Duration: 1.5 hours
Price: €120 per class (± €4.80 per pupil with 25 pupils)
For: Group 5/6 - Deepen and play
The world is a stage
What role do you play? Pupils are introduced to classical theatre texts and explore themes that are still relevant today. They watch scenes, think about meaning and then create their own play.
In this way, they learn to reflect, understand different perspectives and present confidently.
Duration: 1.5 hours

For: Group 7/8 - analysing and interpreting
Technique Tour
How does a theatre work technically? Pupils discover what happens before the curtain opens. They see the stage and technical areas and get to work with light and sound themselves.
They gain insight into how technology and cooperation together make a performance possible.

PLUUSJ School Day
On Sunday 21 February, our theatre will once again transform into a happy, playful world during family festival PLUUSJ. Full of performances, creativity and encounters. We also like to create this atmosphere for schools. That is why we organise a special PLUUSJ School Day for primary schools on Monday 22 February. Your class will visit a school performance and follow a matching workshop in the theatre. This makes the theatre visit extra in-depth, active and fun.
For you as a teacher, this means: not just watching, but also doing. Pupils immediately incorporate what they see in a creative workshop and experience the theatre in an open and playful way.
The costs for this school day are € 6 per pupil (performance and workshop).
The bus fare remains € 4 per person.
This edition is suitable for group 1 and 2 as well as group 7 and 8.
The Karel Leentjens Award
The Karel Leentjens Award is an award for the most impactful educational performance that has played in PLT's theatres. The jury consists of volunteers and a number of theatre staff, together they choose the best performance.
"Mr" Leentjens, as a former school director, has volunteered for years to make educational performances possible in PLT. The Karel Leentjens Award was created on his retirement as a volunteer in 2022.
