About PLT
PLT is one of the largest, most dynamic and successful theatre organisations in the country. In our three theatres, we bring theatre makers and audiences together in a way that makes the magic of theatre truly palpable. This creates a connection with the story of the performance or concert, as well as with the people in the auditorium.
The result? Visitors leave feeling enriched. We make this possible with more than 125 enthusiastic and expert staff members, together with dozens of volunteers – both on stage and behind the scenes. We present our programme in no fewer than nine auditoriums, spread across three theatres: Theater Heerlen, the Toon Hermans Theater in Sittard and Theater Kerkrade. In addition, we have three smaller venues without a stage. These are used for all kinds of activities, such as introductions, pre- and post-performance discussions, presentations and more.

Our Vision
In the venues of PLT, we come together to experience something, to share an experience. Our raison d’être lies in sharing and passing on stories through meaningful encounters. Stories stimulate, energise and foster connection and interaction. Stories strengthen our bond with other people. They broaden our perspective and take us on new experiences. The creative makers, creators and performers whom PLT is delighted to welcome into its venues reflect on society and its developments through their work. A reflection that we, as human beings, can relate to. However, stories touch us not only through our senses – through what we see, feel and hear – but also through our imagination. Together, our theatres aim to be a home and a place of development for sharing stories through the highest possible quality of interaction between performing artists and the audience. Together, they aim to enrich cultural life in and from South Limburg in a sustainable way by acting as a hub and driving force for a vibrant cultural dynamic that inspires, surprises and offers depth, and in which all forms of performing arts are represented.

Theater Heerlen
Theater Heerlen is one of the largest theatres in the Netherlands – and we are proud of that. Right in the bustling heart of Parkstad, we bring international productions, high-profile performances and big names to South Limburg. It is a place where we discover the world together, and where everyone from the region feels welcome in an atmosphere of intimacy, grandeur and hospitality.
Theater Kerkrade
Our Kerkrade Theatre exudes intimacy, musicality and connection. In a city where music is in the DNA, we bring classical splendour, small-scale theatre and surprising stories to life. We are deeply rooted in the community, but our doors are wide open to anyone from the Euregio who is looking for warmth and wonder.
Toon Hermans Theatre Sittard
Toon Hermans Theatre is a place full of heart, humour and a human touch – exactly as Toon would have intended. In a town where community life is vibrant and a sense of togetherness thrives, we celebrate life with cabaret, music, theatre and a great deal of love for the people around us. Here, the town, the region and emotion come together in a theatre that feels like home.
