The blues is alive and well in Heerlen. Every year PLT, together with the Southern Blues Promotion Foundation, programmes the Southern Bluesnight: the indoor blues festival of the southern Netherlands. An evening full of soul, guitar and raw energy - spread over three stages in Theater Heerlen.
From traditional blues to innovative crossovers: at the Southern Bluesnight you will hear the top of the international blues scene as well as resounding homegrown names.
25 years of southern blues history in one overview
Under the inspired leadership of the Southern Blues Promotion foundation, with Jan Zimny, Giel Scholtes, Jos Starmans, Les de Groot and John 'Groovetime' Hendrix (Dutch Keeping The Blues Alive Award 2020) at the helm, the Southern Bluesnight has been bringing top acts to Parkstad for 25 years. On Saturday 28 March, Theater Heerlen was once again fully dedicated to the blues at The Southern Bluesnight. With a strong international line-up, it was an evening for lovers of blues, soul and roots music. Raw and intense, but also warm and compelling: exactly how a good bluesnight should be.
