Experience the premiere of this compelling evening of Argentine music at PLT.
On 2 February 2002, during Willem-Alexander and Máxima's wedding ceremony, the world was deeply moved by a memorable television moment: 'the tear' of Máxima during the beautiful performance of Adiós Nonino by the master of the tango, bandoneonist Carel Kraaijenhof, and the Nederlands Kamerkoor.
This year, the Nederlands Kamerkoor and Carel will celebrate the 25th wedding anniversary of King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima in a special concert that will have its premiere in Heerlen. Together with the Matangi Quartet, they will perform a selection of musical pieces highlighting the connection between art, love and life. In addition to Adiós Nonino, it will include a performance of Ariel Ramírez's Misa Criolla; a work that combines the rich sound world of South American music with deep spiritual expression. The concert is conducted by Ed Spanjaard, who also attended in 2002.
