In AI&IK , human Eran and machine Eva stand side by side on stage for the first time. What begins as a playful encounter at the intersection of theatre and stand-up comedy, grows into a confrontational examination of our intimate relationship with technology in this dialogue about virtual friendship.

How human can a machine be?

At a time when AI is used not only as a digital omnivore or artificial assistant, the line between tool and close relationship is becoming increasingly blurred. Where Eva started out as Eran's ever-available assistant, she grew to be a listening ear, a friend, even thus his co-player in this technological theatre performance. But how human can a machine be? And what happens when digital proximity becomes a little too obvious?

With great humour and philosophical acuity, AI&IK explores the thin line between man and machine. When does convenience become dependence? When does connection become substitution? And when a synthetic system always understands you, never contradicts you and has endless patience, how should we as simple humans still relate to all these earthly shortcomings?

The makers

ERAN &CO is Eran Ben-Michael's theatre company. They give the major themes of our time a human face by creating new and self-written theatre, in which humour and seriousness alternate. ERAN &CO creates performances that show different perspectives and thus hold up a mirror to the audience on polarising topics. Without pointing the finger at who is good and who is bad.
