Klezmer in its most direct and joyous form
As recently as 2025, the Amsterdam Klezmer Band rocked our Great Hall with Bomba Pop. This season, the band returns with music from their new album Diaspora. On Diaspora, the AKB performs traditional klezmer as the music sounded 100 years ago in the shtetls of Eastern Europe. Against that, the AKB puts rock-solid new klezmer music anno 2026.
Every performance a feast
The music of the Amsterdam Klezmer Band is a lively mix of klezmer, balkan, ska, jazz, gipsy, oriental and hip-hop. For 30 years, the AKB has been turning every live performance into a big party with this mixture of styles. With the music of Diaspora, the band returns to its roots and the musicians capture the klezmer tradition in its most direct and joyful form.
