Music that moves you
Through her concert initiative Opus 16, Michelle Lynne aims to bring classical music closer to the listener. Intimate concerts in which music is given the space to move, surprise and inspire. This idea also forms the basis for this Apple Pie Matinee.
The concert opens with Maurice Ravel’s *Pavane pour une infante défunte*, an atmospheric work full of refined melodies. This is followed by contemporary music, featuring two compositions by Edward Enman and *Nereides* by Adam Vincent Clarke.
The second half is entirely dedicated to Sergei Rachmaninoff. Michelle Lynne will perform five movements from his *Moments musicaux*, Op. 16. These piano pieces alternate between lyrical melodies, powerful chords and virtuoso passages.
From moments of tranquillity to impressive piano sounds: a musical afternoon in which the piano reveals all its facets. And, of course, a delicious slice of apple pie will be waiting for you!
