Kurdish singer Aynur is one of the most celebrated and influential voices of our time. She is loved worldwide for her enchanting sound and special collaborations with, for instance, the world-famous cellist Yo-Yo Ma, the Silk Road Ensemble and Riccardo Muti. Or with the Netherlands Wind Ensemble, with whom she brought Kurdish musical heritage to the limelight. Aynur pushes boundaries and infuses traditional Kurdish folk music with contemporary Western music. It will be a treat when this icon, the star of Turkey, comes to Heerlen.
