Kurt Weill's music as a guide to Weill's life story.
How does it feel to never fully get anywhere? To never really be able to land as a person and artist? To always feel like being on the road? In Eternal Road - Der immer ewige Weg, the Brecht Trio brings the life of German composer Kurt Weill to life.
An artist who never really landed anywhere
Kurt Weill is the composer who had to leave everything behind and reinvent himself on the way to a new life. Who used American Jazz in his classical compositions in Europe and used classical European inspiration for his work in America. The artist who helped build the golden age of Broadway musicals but never really grounded himself in his new 'home'. An artist who always thought beyond borders but never really found a home. The Brecht Trio will play a staged concert during our Sunday morning Classical in which Weill's music will guide his life story.
