A Burgundian comedienne from Brabant
This Burgundian Brabant Schijndel comedienne, who is self-taught, saw the light of day in 1966. In 1996, she joins a Feesterij where, pretty soon, she not only stars at all theme parties, but is also the face of the company.
During this period, she creates a furore at Omroep Brabant with her TV programme 'DA'S NEL'. Soon, the Feesterij is too small for Christel and in 2000 she becomes self-employed.
Initially, she plays characters at company parties. Over time, she became not only a presenter, chairman of the day and Babs, but also the face of Omroep Brabant, where she has successful TV programmes and can be heard on the radio every Saturday. She was also featured on national TV several times. Among others on the programme 'OOK DAT NOG' where she did the sketches. People also know her from 'TOREN C ' where she often stood her ground at the coffee machine. In addition, she was Richard Groenendijk's assistant in the 'JOPIE PARLEVLIET' show.
At fifty, she decided to give herself a theatre show as a present and it worked out so well that she is now working on her third show. Her first show 'CHRISTEL DE LAAT' highlights the first 30 years of her life. The show that follows it 'ARE THERE QUESTIONS ABOUT IT' covers the period between the age of 33 and 55. There is a three-year gap between her thirties and three and thirty, which is covered in her third show 'HOW DAN!?'.
