A musical journey in the footsteps of Philip Glass.
Vibraphonist Pascal Schumacher and pianist Danae Dörken bring the music from their album GLASS TWO (2024) to the live stage. With their impressive interplay between vibraphone and piano, they place the sound world of Philip Glass, the grandmaster of American minimal music, in a new light. Arrangements of Glass' film music from Koyaanisqatsi and piano compositions , for instance, are interspersed with new works by Pascal Schumacher. Together, they create a unique, crystal-clear and almost hypnotic sound, in which the piano and vibraphone sounds are in perfect harmony with Philip Glass' minimalist aesthetic.
A new listening experience
GLASS TWO promises a fascinating artistic journey through the multifaceted legacy of Philip Glass. Using the American minimalist's work as inspiration, German-Greek pianist Danae Dörken and vibraphonist/composer Pascal Schumacher from Luxembourg give the music an individual and contemporary sound. This concert takes you on a journey that not only reinterprets the works of Philip Glass, but also brings out the subtle magic and versatility of piano and vibraphone. GLASS TWO thus promises not only a tribute to a great master of minimalism, but also a discovery of new soundscapes and a unique listening experience.
