A performance about togetherness. About fighting for what you believe in and positive deeds.
In The Gang of the White Rose, a group of children form a secret club to prepare a major guerrilla action. So secret that it would be dangerous to say anything about it. This happens after the municipality decides to take away the last piece of greenery in the neighbourhood to put up yet another building.
What are the children up to?
The secret club, with its own rules, rituals, language and a strict code of silence forms a guerrilla with the aim of saving their little country. The club members want to give a voice to the animals and plants; the voiceless who are not taken seriously, like themselves. Behind the barricades, rumblings are busy and secretive. The word 'bomb' has been dropped. Panic breaks out among the adults. What are the children up to?
Tools to fend for yourself
The White Rose Gang is about togetherness. About fighting for what you believe in and about how taking action together helps perform positive deeds. Children do not always have to think, want and feel the same as their parents. They have their own opinions and views. In these times when adults are loudly proclaiming their opinions about the future, their future, it is high time they let themselves be heard and seen more loudly. With humour and strength, The Ministry of Insolence & Garage TDI want to give children tools to defend themselves against the heaviness of the unjust world.
