Diederik makes the switch to his mother tongue
In his new programme VERS, Nomden plays songs from his first, eponymous Dutch-language album. He also takes you through a number of self-chosen highlights from Dutch pop history in his characteristically compelling yet light-hearted narrative style.
A sensitive chord
After four solo albums in English, concluded by his first theatre tour ROOTS, Diederik Nomden switches to his mother tongue with VERS . His melancholic song Oldambt about the East Groningen region where he grew up proved to be a highlight of ROOTS. But even earlier, including for the theatre play Hanna by Hendrik in 2019 and around the illness process of his father, who died in 2020, Diederik already wrote Dutch-language songs that touched a sensitive chord.
Diederik Nomden became known as a singer, keyboardist and guitarist for bands such as Johan and Daryll-Ann. He played with The Analogues and Her Majesty and only last year, together with Bertolf, he performed in our Kleine Zaal with the music from their album Two of Us.
