Dolle Mina

Prudery out, freedom in. Club Lam brings back the Dolle Mina: shameless, humorous and musically cheeky, straight out of the 70s.

In Dolle Mina, a group of white women transform into an activist cover band inspired by the sound of Fleetwood Mac. And driven by the fiery ideals of a generation that refused to conform. With rock 'n' roll, self-mockery and belligerence, they sing and fight for equal rights; about being the boss of your own belly, freedom of choice and a movement that turns history on its head with playful actions. Until Agnes - a black woman loosely based on Agnes Samuel - wants to join them. Her arrival sets relations on edge and exposes the blind spots and tensions within the feminist movement with razor-sharp humour.

A joyously fiery performance

Dolle Mina's is a joyously fiery performance about solidarity, militancy, emancipation and the indomitable energy of women who claimed and gained space. But also about the uncomfortable insights that arise when even Club Lam faces its own blind spots.
