An intoxicating love story.
Opera Aachen visits us with Donizetti's classic L'elisir d'amor. In this opera, the enthusiastic Nemorino loves Adina. But the situation is hopeless, as she seems to have eyes only for the brash Belcore. It takes a magic potion that makes her too fall in love. But Adina has long since seen through Nemorino and knows a better remedy....
Donizetti's joyous love story intoxicates on several fronts. Not only with a fictional love potion, but especially with its wonderful melodies and flowery arias, including the beautiful Una furtiva lagrima.
This opera is sung in Italian with Dutch surtitles.
