Eric Vloeimans & Egbert Derix
Gardens of AbundanceTheater Heerlen - Kleine Zaal
An unparalleled conversation between piano and trumpet
On stage one of the world's best trumpet players, with a very special pianist next to him. Edison winner Eric Vloeimans finds in Egbert Derix a mate to excel with. The pair previously released the double album Gardens of Abundance and now Gardens of Abundance part two is a fact.
An exciting adventure full of wanderlust and surprises
Together, Vloeimans and Derix jettison all the clichés attached to (jazz) musicians. The musicians play a combination of improvisations and their own compositions in the now, without a rigidly preconceived plan. And then an unparalleled conversation unfolds between piano and trumpet. Tender, hushed, then exuberant and always intense. Call it an exciting adventure full of wanderlust and surprises. And after each piece of music, they come home for a while.
