In a painfully humorous way, comedienne Esther van der Voort (also single mom and former civil servant) discovered what is really important in life. As a single mother, daily life is a rollercoaster of emotions. After all, with four children, the flood of questions goes on all day long. Mum, where is my hockey stick? What time is it? What are we eating?

How on earth did she end up in this situation anyway? 

Did Esther always make the right choices herself or did she react purely out of emotion? Because, life sometimes seems like a string of choices not made. So mum herself has all sorts of questions. Why did she get married? How did she get that dog? What should she do with this job? Why did she say "OK, we'll do another child", when picking out a sofa could sometimes take two years?

It gets too much for Esther from time to time and then mount up, because mum is angry. Angry at her kids, angry at her ex, angry at the girl behind the cash register, angry at her navigation system, angry at her boss, but most of all: angry at herself.
