Fuse at its most vulnerable and powerful, fueled by Kinan Azmeh.
This Sunday morning Classical promises a musical adventure brimming with penetrating rhythms, spectacular improvisations and melancholic melodies. A programme of hope, remembrance and connection. Fuse, Podium Klassiek's house band , has maintained a close musical friendship with Syrian-American clarinettist and composer Kinan Azmeh for years. With FREE, a long-cherished wish to tour together is coming true.
Music as an 'act of freedom'
For Kinan Azmeh, music is an 'act of freedom'. His roots in Arabic music, classical education and jazz background fit seamlessly with Fuse's free spirit. Together they will play new work for Fuse written by Azmeh, alongside arrangements of Azmeh's iconic works such as November 22nd and Airports, unique collective improvisations and arrangements of music by Bartók and Bach, among others.

Fuse
Fuse began in 2012 with a series of its own club nights in the Amsterdam nightlife scene, presenting classical music in a new way. Hundreds of performances at home and abroad followed. They are the standard-bearers of a new generation of alternative-classical formations and winners of the Edison Klassiek Publieksprijs. Since 2015, the group has been the house band of TV programme Podium Klassiek.
