Internationally celebrated harpist and composer Gwyneth Wentink's repertoire brings a sound and colour to the harp that is unique. In her multidisciplinary performance Echoes of a Quiet Act , she weaves music, story and theatre into a moving ode to Noor Inayat Khan; the Sufi musician, writer and resistance heroine who worked as a spy for the British SOE during World War II. Together with composer Wouter Snoei (electronics & soundscape) and director Cora Burggraaf, Wentink brings a unique performance in which east and west, mysticism and courage, past and present meet.
Gwyneth Wentink
Gwyneth Wentink is solo harpist with the Orchestre Révolutionnaire et Romantique and the English Baroque Soloists conducted by Sir John Eliot Gardiner. She has performed on the world's most prestigious concert stages, including Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center in New York, the Royal Albert Hall and Royal Opera Hall in London and the Konzerthaus in Berlin. Many composers, including Theo Loevendie, Marius Flothuis and Terry Riley, have written works for her. She is also director and founder of State of the United Arts; an arts think tank, with which she created Canto Ostinato Audio Visual and the audiovisual performance In Code. Gwyneth has won many awards, including the 2007 Dutch Music Prize, the Israel Harp Competition (ISR) and The Young Concert Artists (YCA) - International Auditions in New York.
