Harmonie St. Aemiliaan Bleijerheide

This concert demonstrates that heroism takes many forms.

The St. Aemiliaan Bleijerheide Wind Band takes you on a musical journey through heroes from film, music, literature and history. Under the baton of conductor Txemi Etxebarria, the band presents ‘Heroes in the Spotlight’: a concert full of power, emotion and surprises.
What makes someone a hero? Sometimes we think of great deeds and fearless warriors. But heroism can also lie in perseverance, caring for others or the courage to choose your own path. These different facets of heroism form the inspiration for an evening where stories and music come together.

You can expect a varied programme featuring light classical music, pop, rock, musical theatre and film music. Impressive orchestral sounds are interspersed with recognisable melodies and more subdued moments. In this way, every hero gets their own place in the spotlight.
The orchestra will be joined by special guests this evening. Baritone Sef Thissen and soprano Floor Bosman add an extra dimension to the programme with their voices. Fer Kousen will be the presenter, guiding the audience through the stories behind the music in his own, humorous way. Artist Miriam Vleugels is also contributing to the concert.

With ‘Heroes in the Spotlight’ , Harmonie St. Aemiliaan Bleijerheide promises a theatrical evening for young and old alike: captivating, varied and full of music that will linger in the memory for a long time to come.
