We’re inviting true Neil Young fans to a special warm-up event. Before the show , visitors can take part in an exclusive 45-minute Neil Young quiz for the modest price of €4. Packed with recognisable as well as obscure music clips, surprising trivia and remarkable anecdotes. Participants stand a chance of winning great prizes. An ideal start to an evening full of nostalgia, energy and unforgettable Neil Young hits. The quiz is compiled and presented by Marco Smeets.
Marco Smeets, from Heerlen, is active in the culture and music sector as a programme maker, interviewer, presenter and podcast creator. He works at the intersection of media, music, pop culture and communication; amongst other things, he is involved in cultural and musical projects in the region and also presents TV and radio programmes and interviews with creators, artists and eyewitnesses.
A nostalgic evening of sound and vision
The albums Neil Young made with Crazy Horse are among his finest work. Take *Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere*; his second album and his first with Crazy Horse, featuring the standout tracks ‘Down By The River’, ‘Cinnamon Girl ’ and ‘Cowgirl In The Sand’. Or *After The Goldrush*, *Zuma* and *Tonight’s The Night*. Each and every one a classic, created by passionate and versatile musicians under the inspiring leadership of the master himself.
Her Majesty focuses on Neil Young’s body of work from the 1970s with Crazy Horse, though they do not rule out straying from the beaten track. Her Majesty has set itself the aim of showcasing, in its own unique way, the unpredictability and rebellious spirit of one of the greatest singer-songwriters of the past 60 years. As always, you’re guaranteed a superb evening of nostalgia in both sound and vision.
