An immersive puppet show for young and old.
Immerse yourself in the magical world of Imi and the wolf. Imi is a special girl. She doesn't talk. She can, but she stopped. Until one day an old woman appears in the mirror. She hands Imi a book, but there are no words in it.... Not yet... Until Imi starts writing... She writes her way down the stairs, out the door, to a place where stars swim in rivers, where witches laugh and wolves lead the way.
Everyone walks their own path
The girl who wrotethe world is a coming-of-age adventure about choosing your own path. About the silence between words, friendship and learning to let go. In this performance, you walk a route right through an ever-moving labyrinth, while listening to the story on headphones. Everyone experiences this special theatre experience in their own way. "Sensory and poetic," wrote Theaterkrant.
Theatre for everyone
The performance is wheelchair-accessible and suitable for stimulus-sensitive audiences. Apart from Dutch and English, it can also be followed in Turkish. The headphones can be adjusted in terms of volume for the hearing impaired.
Our programmer Solange:
"The Girl Who Wrote the World is truly such a poetic gem within youth and family theatre. In this performance, for a start, you are not sitting in the auditorium; you walk in small groups with headphones on through a labyrinth, past seven different rooms. In it, the performers use puppetry and object theatre to depict the story of the girl who writes out and shapes her life's path while writing. I saw the performance in The Hague. There it made a huge impression. The beautifully detailed sets with all its miniature scenes, the story, the way the performance is constructed; this is truly a unique theatre experience for young and old."
