Houtje is a performance at the intersection of theatre, woodworking and music: about dreaming of wood. About daring to get lost along the way and discovering something new.
Viko and Thor carpenter while singing in their workshop. But then a Wood lies in the way. It doesn't fit. It doesn't belong anywhere. Such a beautiful and rough and wonderful Wood... it can't be? To the rhythm of sawing, chopping and scraping and a journey through wood shavings, splinters and plasters, Viko and Thor search the jungle for where the Wood comes from.
About the creators
The Ministry of Inconvenient is an indestructible small company. They create energetic, humorous performances for everyone from 2 years old about the things that really matter. They have previously made: Rocket, Panama, Fatboys, The Head of My Father and, together with José Montoya, The Last Cookie. Niek and José both previously won a Silver Cricket.
