Four strings, one story - pure chamber music by Beethoven and Schubert

In 2023, Philzuid concertmaster Lei Wang also shone during the Sunday morning Classical series at Theater Kerkrade. "When I drive to PLT, I always feel like I'm going to see friends," she told then." This season, Lei returns with her musical friends: violinists Katelijne Vinkeroye and Armen Nazarian and cellist Jan Baerts. They studied (almost all four of them) together and made their careers as orchestral musicians together. In this concert, you can hear and feel their heart for chamber music in the music of Beethoven and Schubert; possibly the purest musical form for strings.

About the musicians

Lei Wang, from Hangzhou (China), studied at the Shanghai Conservatory, the Royal Conservatory of Brussels and the Musikhochschule in Cologne, where she took the Konzer exam. She won prizes at international competitions and performed worldwide as a soloist and chamber musician. She also collaborated with several renowned conductors. Since 2013, she has been first concertmaster of Philzuid. She is also professor of violin at LUCA School of Arts in Leuven.
