In 2025, the top French ensemble Les Siècles shone for the first time on our concert stage with Isabelle Faust as soloist in Beethoven's majestic Violin Concerto. In the Beethoven Year 2027, this house orchestra of Théâtre des Champs-Elysées in Paris returns with Beethoven's most popular Fifth and his most cheerful Seventh Symphony.
Les Siecles is unique.
The musicians play on the historical instruments originally available to the composers. In short, the music sounds as it should sound. In the case of Beethoven's Fifth Symphony, as a dramatic, dynamic and emotional battle, moving from darkness to light. And in the case of the Seventh: as an energetic, rhythmic apotheosis of dance; with the subdued Allegretto that has also been called Beethoven's most heartbreaking emotional melody.
