The Voice of Kaalhei

Sharing football memories together. That is the essence of Voetbal Herinneringen.

Meet up at group sessions led by volunteers and reminisce together about Roda JC’s rich footballing history. The aim is always the same: to facilitate meaningful encounters where older people can reminisce about football together.

As part of Kerkrade Ontmoet!, the HuB., in collaboration with South XVI, is organising a live The Voice Of Kaalhei podcast. This live podcast will focus on the theme of football memories.

Over the course of 2.5 hours, podcast hosts Rob Franssen and Maurice Thelen will be in conversation with various guests. The organisers of Voetbal Herinneringen will be joining them, and former Roda JC players will also be present. Together, they will discuss the Voetbal Herinneringen initiative, how it came about and the people behind it. They will also discuss why it is important for a football club like Roda JC to support initiatives of this kind. Naturally, there will also be plenty of opportunity for people to share their own memories.

Heritage forms the cornerstone of our identity and connects generations. By sharing stories, history remains a living source of inspiration, helping us to understand the present and guiding us towards the future.
