Luistervinken - De grote pianoduo’s en hun muziek
Tijmen Wehlburg & Kasper SchonewilleTheater Heerlen - Kleine Zaal
Tijmen Wehlburg dives into the history of the great piano duos with pianist Kasper Schonewille.
After Mozart's great works for two pianos, a great tradition slowly emerged. Not only because of the composers who threw themselves into this genre, but also because of the piano duos that made their name and world fame. The Jussen brothers from our own region are a fine example. Together with Kasper Schonewille, Tijmen Wehlburg gives an overview and reveals connections, with musical contributions by Kasper.
Three Eavesdroppers
The Eavesdroppers are an ideal palate cleanser in our classical music programme every season. Tijmen Wehlburg is a music connoisseur par excellence. He knows his way to the finest peaks and depths in classical music: "It is sometimes difficult to fathom the depth of classical music. I love being able to give an insight into that. Knowing that that insight usually creates a hunger for more."
This season, Tijmen is hosting three Listening Sessions:
- 7 September on the great piano duos and their music
- 7 January on Sibelius' first symphony
- 10 March on the role of rhythm as a revolutionary force behind music
