Blues, roots and a sound all his own
Luke Winslow-King is a guitarist, singer, producer and songwriter from Cadillac, Michigan. In his music, he brings together influences from delta blues, roots rock and folk to create his own sound, characterised by slide guitar, personal songs and a recognisable voice. During his 15 years in New Orleans, he studied composition at the University of New Orleans, released his debut album Old-New Baby and was named 'Best Blues Artist' by Gambit Magazine. His 2018 song I'm Glad Trouble Don't Last Always has since been streamed more than 10 million times on Spotify. In 2022, he became a voting member of the Grammy Recording Academy.
Together on stage
For this tour, Luke Winslow-King forms a duo with Tuscan guitarist Roberto Luti. Luti made a name for himself with his characteristic slide guitar playing and played for years in New Orleans, where he became involved in the international music project Playing For Change. In doing so, he worked with artists such as Taj Mahal, Buddy Guy, Keith Richards, Ringo Starr and Dr John.
Together, Luke Winslow-King and Roberto Luti have been performing on stages in North America and Europe for 15 years, with appearances at festivals and venues such as Austin City Limits, New Orleans JazzFest, Glastonbury, Paradiso and Byron Bay Blues Fest. They also provided support shows for artists such as Jack White and Rosanne Cash.
New music and familiar roots
September 2024 saw the release of Flash-A-Magic, Luke Winslow-King's ninth studio album and his fourth release on Bloodshot Records. On the album, he collaborates with Roberto Luti, Rev. Charles Hodges and The Sensational Barnes Brothers, among others. With their shared love of blues, roots and Americana, Luke Winslow-King and Roberto Luti bring a concert that focuses on musicianship and playing together.
