Every concert naturally grows into a celebration
With La Novia, internationally renowned trumpet player Maite Hontelé presents an all-star ensemble with leading musicians from contemporary Latin jazz and a brand new album, on which she brings Latin grooves, contemporary jazz and pop influences together in a modern sound. Live in Theater Heerlen, La Novia shows what the band stands for: intense ensemble playing, visible pleasure in playing and a contagious energy, which automatically turns every concert into a party.
The world's musical top
Known worldwide for her powerful live performances, warm stage presence and recognisable sound, Hontelé has built a career connecting musical worlds and audiences in Europe and Latin America. She does the same with her La Novia. Maite's artistic partner on this route is bassist Adinda Meertins; Latin Grammy winner, two-time Grammy nominee and former member of Monsieur Periné. As both performing musician and creative collaborator, Meertins plays an important role in shaping the musical identity of
La Novia. The new album was mixed by internationally renowned producer, mixer and engineer Fab Dupont. He has worked with Bad Bunny (Grammy 2026), Snarky Puppy, Lenny Kravitz
and Shakira. Maite's previous album Cuba Linda received the Cubadisco Award and was nominated for both the Latin Grammy Awards and the Edison Awards.
