"Before realisation comes to us, everything has already disappeared" - Benjamin Clementine

NDT 1 presents associate choreographer Marcos Morau's first full-length performance during schrit_tmacher. GONE invites you to immerse yourself in Morau's imaginative world, where contemporary dance and physical theatre merge into something surreal. Inspired by the music and life of composer Benjamin Clementine, this new work calls on us not to lose sight of ourselves and each other.

A daring theatrical experience that will stay with you for a long time

Marcos Morau is known for his visually impressive works, which feel both human and surreal. As in previous creations he made for NDT, such as Folkå (2021) and Horses (2024), in GONE he is a master at combining abstract movement with theatrical detail. In collaboration with the NDT 1 dancers, he presents an impressive landscape with the visual music of Benjamin Clementine. Each song is like a door opening to a world that accelerates, shatters and observes itself full of turmoil. Loneliness, loss and the desire to belong become visible in the dancers' bodies;not as individual stories, but as a shared truth.

A cry for something simple and urgent: closeness

Morau depicts in GONE a shared ritual on stage in which, as long as the music sounds, we can have faith that we can connect with each other and come together. Even when our reality seems to suggest otherwise. Moreau: "We live in an era where everything is moving faster than we can actually handle. Because of this speed, it sometimes feels as if, without realising it, we let something essential slip through our fingers: our ability to feel without getting distracted. My new work begins at this point."
