An expressive programme including a focus on spectacular, playful Bollywood music.

The Nederlands Blazers Ensemble delves into Indian music; a tradition that blends patience, inspiration and improvisation. Sarangi-guru Ustad Sabir Khan, from the centuries-old court musician family of the Sikar Gharana in Rajasthan, shares his rich musical heritage with the ensemble in this concert. His father, the legendary Sultan Khan, worked with luminaries such as George Harrison and Madonna.

Trombonist and composer Arjan Linker, once winner of the NBE composition competition, has now joined the musical lineage of Ustad Sabir Khan as a shishya (student). Like no other, he understands the art of drawing you into this expressive, improvisation-driven programme, which also includes spectacular, playful Bollywood music.

As usual, the wind players frame their concert with a pre-show and an after-show in the foyer.
