We will celebrate the third edition of the Nederlands Theater Festival Heerlen in 2027.

The NTF is the moment in the theatre season when last year's finest, most impressive performances are shown. These performances are chosen by independent professional juries from the Netherlands and Flanders. The NTF Heerlen combines at least four performances from that programme in a weekend surrounded by both substantive and convivial encounters and live music. There is also room to meet young makers from the stable of talent broker Via Zuid, who work in Limburg. For professionals from the cultural sector, there will be a PRO programme with inspiring talks and speakers on current topics.

A tantalising mix of theatre, musical theatre, youth theatre and more

Which performances you can see in Heerlen, we will announce this autumn. The nominations from which the selection will be made will be decided later this spring. Expect a tantalising mix of theatre, musical theatre, youth theatre, cabaret and more. A minimum of four performances, together with an in-depth fringe programme, form the heart of the festival. Prior to the performances, we will organise a talk show in which we look ahead, and in which Via Zuid-makers will give a short impression of their work.
