In this programme, Nikola shows his great talent and versatility.
Nikola Meeuwsen was the first Dutch pianist to win the prestigious Queen Elisabeth Competition in Brussels in 2025. Immediately afterwards, we saw this promising piano talent on our concert stage in a duo recital with his coach Enrico Pace. Now the 23-year-old Nikola plays solo an impressive programme that opens serenely and gracefully with Bach's First Partita and closes with Beethoven's Appassionata: technical fireworks.
The whole spectrum of piano music
In his recital in Heerlen, Nikola shows his great talent and versatility. Bach's Partita no. 1 is known for its serenity and gracefulness. He delves into depth with Ravel's Tombeau de Couperin and shows and demonstrates his technical prowess with Haydn's Variations in F minor and the final piece; Beethoven's Appassionata. This masterpiece is considered one of the most dramatic and technically demanding piano sonatas in music history. Get carried away by this great talent.
