Confrontational classic with Waldemar Torenstra and Judith Noyons about marriage.

It is one of the most influential plays ever and still hugely topical: Nora (A Doll's House) by Norwegian writer Henrik Ibsen from 1879. Not for nothing is the play on the World Document Heritage List. In this timeless classic, a woman tries to break free from the expectations of others; especially those of her husband. Her quest for freedom and self-respect is painfully recognisable.

How equal are men and women in our contemporary society?

Top actors Waldemar Torenstra and Judith Noyons assume the roles of the famous stage couple. In this penetrating and confrontational performance, they show how role patterns can suffocate people. Sarah Sluimer, columnist for e.g. NRC and author of And She Made a Child, adapted the classic with a keen eye for current tensions in women's emancipation. Sexual freedom is celebrated with all kinds of open relationships and the traditional family is no longer taken for granted everywhere. On the other hand, so-called momfluencers glorify the 1950s housewife and a growing group of young men long for conservative male-female relationships.
