Everyone knows the story of Oliver Twist. But what actually happened to his old comrade, the streetwise pickpocket Dodger? Dodger, Fagin, Nancy, Bill Sykes, Mr Bumble, all the unforgettable characters pass by in this brand new musical.
Twenty years after his adventures with Fagin, Dodger returns to London. A city bustling with new gangs and street kids, dreaming of the same fairytale Oliver once experienced: from beggar to fortune teller. Dodger knows better than anyone that not every story has a happy ending... He decides to face his past and retell Oliver's story, his way. He takes the street kids of today under his wing and turns their lives into a real musical. With humour, pace and a good dose of bravado, he shows that there is always hope, even if you end up on the streets.
Het Nationaal Jeugd Musical Theater
As the breeding ground for young talent in the Netherlands, het NJMT offers children and young people aged 6 to 18 high-quality education in singing, dancing and acting. Besides lessons in drama, audition training and ballet, among others, they get the unique opportunity to put their talents into practice during a national theatre tour. This production is a shining example of this: young talent that develops, grows and knows how to touch audiences with full conviction.
