Philosophical, absurdist music theatre about being different and the same, individuality and (wanting to) belong together
The sun rises, the day begins and... there's nothing at all. Except something big that Wink and Lodie are in. That big thing falls apart, becomes two islands, with Wink on one and Lodie on the other. By accident, they discover each other. Whoa! Scary! Yet they secretly keep looking at each other. Who or what are you? And how do I find out? Because everything is for the first time.
The day passes making great drawings for each other. With surprising phrases they both understand. With an awkward dance with the other across the street. Wink throws a rope, there's going to be some building. By evening, they both think 'close' is the most beautiful word. They make one bed together and dream one dream together. And then? Will everything remain so happy for long?
A happy light on how it (mis)goes when making contact
PingPong is philosophical, absurdist music theatre about being different and the same, about individuality and (wanting to) belong together. Above Water Music Theatre sheds a cheerful light on how things can go (wrong) in communication and making contact.
I dreamt that I had a head full of questions.
There were a lot of them around me,
all wanting to be heard.
There were questions that took me a long time, or longer,
or very long:
'Is breath the same as wind?'
But I always found an answer.
Except for that one, the biggest question:
'Why am I actually so curious?'
I kept walking around with that throughout the dream.
