We were introduced to Princess at Great Apes of the West Coast during Cultura Nova 2024. For this penetrating solo performance, she immediately received the prestigious Theo d'Or and a nomination for the BNG Theatre Award. This year, we see this extraordinary young creator back with Wild Woman - Part 1: The Bone Collector. A raw, ritualistic performance about loss, memory and rebirth. Grounded in African spiritual traditions and carried by a hybrid sound world of Afro-futurism, Afro-punk, metal and rap, Princess creates a ritual space where past, body and imagination coincide.

The Bone Woman

In The Bone Collector, Princess descends into a mythical and physical underworld where identity, body and voice disintegrate; to be rebuilt from there. Inspired by the figure of La Loba from Women Who Run With the Wolves by Clarissa Pinkola Estés, the Bone Woman collects lost bones, which she sings back to life. Not as nostalgia, but as a necessity: what is forgotten must be remembered again.

The Bone Collector

is not a story about healing alone, but about what precedes it: breaking, remembering, and reassembling a self that was never fully gone. A collective confrontation with what was lost and what persists in the body. A poetic and raw search for voice, body and soul in times of inner and social crisis.

Princess Isatu Hassan Bangura

Princess Isatu Hassan Bangura (born 1996) is a multidisciplinary performance artist working at the intersection of ritual, theatre, music and storytelling. From her Sierra Leonean roots and her life in Europe, she interweaves ancestral memory with contemporary experiences. Her work is radically vibrant and deeply rooted in spiritual power. Drawing on Vodun cosmology and West African traditions, she approaches the stage as a ritual space where the visible and the invisible converge.
