Travel with Pynarello and three top soloists along Indian rhythms, fiery Balkan melodies, swinging gipsy jazz and compelling baroque.
Pynarello takes you on an adventurous musical journey inspired by the ancient ways of the Romani. The journey starts in India, where the roots of Roma culture lie, and leads through the Middle East to Europe. Everywhere the Romani came, music cultures touched and were influenced or influenced the local population. In addition to traditional Roma music, you will therefore hear classical pieces by Telemann in this concert. The German Baroque composer was deeply impressed by the fiery improvisations he heard the Romani playing in the café and often used elements of that music in his compositions.
Top soloists
Pynarello echoes this musical richness together with three top soloists. Romanian cymbal and accordion virtuoso Vasile Nedea, who comes from the Roma culture, connects the music of the Romani with Western classical styles. Niti Ranjan Biswas brings sophisticated rhythms to life on his tabla, an Indian percussion instrument, in a virtuoso manner. And Dutch guitarist Faifie Reinhardt embodies the swing and soul of gipsy jazz. As the (solo) guitarist in Jimmy Rosenberg's trio, he proudly bears the family name of the legendary Django Reinhardt, whose music has captured hearts all over the world and which he masterfully honours.
