The brothers are steaming on to the big stage in Kerkrade.
People often find it hard to believe that Roel and Jos are brothers because they are so different from each other. After competing in Plakshot for seven seasons, they have been taking on each other in the theatre since last season. Last year, they performed their theatre debut Verbroedering (Brotherhood) in the Kleine Zaal in Heerlen. This season, they advance to the Grote Zaal in Theater Kerkrade. Roel is extremely looking forward to it; Jos also doubts now whether this is a good idea.
Two more iconic brothers
With Roel & Jos, the Netherlands has gained two iconic brothers. In 1672, the De Witt brothers were lynched. In 1995, the De Boer brothers won the Champions League. In 2002, the Ko brothers had a horn on their water scooter. Roel and Jos have neither a horn nor a water scooter. But they do have a full-length show about democracy under attack, the climate going to shit and AI that will soon make us completely superfluous. How do we solve today's problems? With hope or with pessimism? With adaptation or with staying yourself? With a wink or with a quip? In short: with Roel or with Jos!
