What do you do when the anger inside yourself gets bigger and bigger, like an inflatable elephant?
There is not a cloud in the sky. Nynke sets the table and Elephant slides in. Elephant is her cuddly toy. He is a little soft elephant. Nynke explains all the rules to Elephant and tells him how things are done. Elephant sits and watches.
What is it really like to be Elephant? He gets to play and be cuddled. But when the tea is served, he is the dishcloth. When the cake is shared, Elephant gets the smallest piece. When Nynke no longer feels like playing, she throws Elephant aside. Elephant is fed up, he doesn't participate anymore!
I'm not counting to ten!
Nynke gets annoyed. She tries to hold back. Don't get angry. Calm down, manners are manners. But then, when a cup breaks, anger rises to boiling point. And then Nynke's whistling kettle goes off....
With a gentle musical ending
Knars is a recognisable and hilarious visual performance about anger of all shapes and sizes. Thunderclouds, ranting and fussing. But also about getting to know your own strengths and embracing your anger. So Knars ends relaxed and the unruly energy flows out into a wonderfully calm and relaxed ending with music.
