Besides his activities with NITS, SUPERSISTER and solo, Robert Jan Stips works with violinist Marieke Brokamp. She plays with the Zeeuws Orkest and TY string quartet, among others. Together they come to Heerlen with a surprising duo programme featuring an unusually exciting, super wide repertoire for piano-violin duo.
All boundaries between various musical styles fade away
You will hear arrangements for violin & piano of the better-known works from Stips' rich pop history; music by Supersister, Golden Earring, Sweet d'Buster, Transister, Freek de Jonge and NITS, larded with stories connected to them. Robert Jan's film, expo and documentary music will be featured. In between, the two take you to very different musical worlds, from Schubert to Arvo Pärt....
