Ode to Herman Veugelers
Herman Veugelers from Obbicht was a troubadour and perhaps the first Limburg protest singer. Over the years, he fell into oblivion. Unjustly, the Troubadours of the Future think. They bring Veugelers' work back to life. With beautiful songs like Es aw sjure brenne, Wo mien mooder and Jesus in Limburg, they show how topical and powerful his music still is.
The Troubadours intertwine Veugelers' songs with their own, often socially engaged songs. This creates a musical portrait in which past and present meet. Earlier, the Troubadours performed on the mainstage of the Liberation Festival Limburg. Mark Courage, Chris Dols, Tom Jaspers, Harold K, Linda Koolen and Mella will be assisted by Paul van Loo and Ivo Rosbeek during this unique concert.
