Teus Nobel 4
Child's PlayExpected end time: 21:50 hour
Theater Heerlen - Kleine Zaal
Teus' most personal music to date
With Child's Play, trumpeter and Edison winner Teus Nobel presents his eleventh and most personal album to date. The music originated during a period when his family was facing a serious illness. While resilience and pragmatism were required at home, Nobel found inspiration in his children's play: free, unpredictable and full of imagination. This energy resonates in the compositions, which have plenty of room for spontaneity and 'controlled chaos'. Structure and freedom keep each other in balance, exactly as in children's play.
Human First
Before the concert, we show the documentary Human First (about 50 minutes). In it, British filmmakers Simon Sixsmith and Steve Denniss captured how Teus and his wife are making space for creativity again after an intense period. This process, which led to the creation of Child's Play, is a personal prelude to the concert. Before that, Nobel formed his own all-star band with guitarist Teis Semey, bassist Jasper Høiby and drummer Niek de Bruijn.
