Poison in the Animal Kingdom
Poisonous animals are brilliant. Do you know why? They don’t need to roar menacingly like a lion or a tiger. They don’t need to be big or strong to protect themselves from attackers. No. Poisonous animals have come up with a different, clever solution: poison. Because just imagine if someone broke into your house, tried to steal your sweets or attacked you to eat you. What would you do? Wouldn’t that make you poisonous too?
Mátyás Bittenbinder
Mátyás was about seven years old when he first found (and caught) a snake in the wild. Ever since that day, he’s had a special bond with snakes. But actually with all other animals too. He’s most fascinated by animals that use venom to survive. Mátyás finds venomous animals so extraordinary that he decided to turn his fascination with them into a career. His greatest passion is sharing the most wonderful stories about animals (and plants) with as wide an audience as possible. He does this on the radio, on TV or during talks. As a biologist, Mátyás naturally loves all animals, but also plants and fungi, because each of these organisms has a special story and plays a unique role in nature.
