On Sunday 21 February, the Toon Hermans Theatre is hosting the youth and family theatre festival PLUUSJ. Teenagers can immerse themselves in love during this mini-festival with Opera Compact.
Giggles, butterflies... well before the first kiss, it starts with the question: am I in love? What do you do when your heart starts beating faster for someone? How do you know if the other person is really special? Doubt, excitement, a touch of uncertainty and a head full of dreams. Do you dare to take the leap? Where will you jump? And what if everything goes differently than expected? And and and and?
In love, 1 + 1 is one. But where did the other 1 go?
The tentative first step on the path of love is at the centre of this joyous musical performance for anyone curious about the walk. Love is a celebration: a celebration that is allowed to feel good for everyone. Being in love is wonderful, but sometimes you make choices you secretly regret later. Jealousy lurks around the corner, and what does 'together' really mean?
Exuberant love duets, lonely ballads and modern, digital love
Opera Compact gives sound to the butterflies and the shards: playful and compelling, at the same time conscious and respectful.
