A circus theatre performance in which waste steals the show
In WEG ERMEE four acrobats land out of the blue in the middle of a rubbish dump. Among old stuffed animals, broken toasters and empty bottles; stuff nobody wants anymore. With spectacular acrobatics, humour and a good dose of imagination, the four tell an adventurous story about working together, recycling and the art of starting again. Because what you first see as rubbish can just be the start of something very special.
A second chance
Just like those items, the four acrobats have also fallen by the wayside. Together, they build a new, colourful world out of everything others have thrown away. They discover that discards are often still bursting with potential and that not only objects, but also people deserve a second chance. The acrobats show that being different is not a weakness, but a strength. And that sustainability is far from boring.
About the makers
WIRWAR Productions is the circus theatre company of theatre producer Laura van Hal. Her performances are dynamic, exciting, humorous and wordless. Laura van Hal is a pioneer within the 'New Circus' in the Netherlands. By combining acrobatics with dance and mime, she gives a deeper meaning to spectacular acrobatic tricks. With her appealing, energetic theatrical language, she involves young audiences in recognisable, social issues even without using words.
