A festive programme full of Viennese warmth, charm and virtuosity.

In Wiener Mélange, the 'J.M. Vogl Foundation for the Art of Singing' pays a sparkling tribute to Vienna: the city of song, waltz and operetta. The intimate sound world of Franz Schubert and the irresistible charm of Viennese operetta meet in one festive programme on this Sunday morning in Theater Kerkrade.

From Viennese salons to the sparkling world of operetta

The concert opens with a series of pearls from the repertoire Franz Schubert wrote especially for male quartet and then immerses you in the sparkling world of Viennese operetta. Familiar arias and duets by Johann Strauss, Carl Millöcker and Franz Lehár bring to life the elegance, humour and zest for life of Viennese theatres. This creates a programme full of Viennese warmth, charm and virtuosity: a musical mélange that takes it from the intimate atmosphere of Viennese salons to the sparkling world of operetta.

Shining on stage is bass-baritone Robert Holl, a living legend within the international art of song and one of the great Schubert interpreters of our time, alongside soprano Fenna Ograjensek, tenors Mark Heines and Mitch Raemaekers and baritone Vincent Kusters. They are accompanied on piano alternately by Roger Braun and Enrico Delamboye.
