Presentation of three literary walking routes brimming with poetry and local writing talent.
This Sunday morning, PANDA is presenting not one, not two, but three literary walking routes through Heerlen. A route that takes you past every hidden corner where someone once immortalised poetry in Heerlen. On another route, Ben van Melick and Dennis Gaens take you to Hoensbroek, where the writer Pe Hawinkels (who wrote lyrics for Herman Brood, amongst others) grew up. The third route is the Sibelco route, for which young writing talents have penned new texts inspired by the Sibelco quarry on the Heksenberg.
On this Sunday morning, we’ll be sharing stories from the creators of the three routes: Dennis Gaens, Ben van Melick, Mira Verhoeve, Hanna Zwart, Merlijn Huntjens, Ella Kortis, Roman Ansari and Nina Willems. We’ll be reading out newly written texts from the Sibelco route, and there’s sure to be time for vlaai and music too. Afterwards, we’ll be walking the Literary Route through the centre of Heerlen with anyone who fancies joining us.
With thanks to: SCHUNCK and the Municipality of Heerlen
PANDA’s three Literary walking routes were developed in collaboration with SCHUNCK as part of the Heerlen Heritage Year.
