The schrit_tmacher Family Day is all about the (living) world of children and their (grand)parents. That day, Theatre Heerlen shows dance for all ages, from babies and toddlers to (young) adults. With fun workshops, surprising performances and lots of dance in the theatre's foyer. The schrit_tmacher Family Day is a big dance party for everyone. Even for real handymen (in the making).

A dance party where everyone joins in

Water sprays, power fails, the gutter clogs and pipes burst. Oh what chaos! If only this works out and things don't explode! All hands on deck! Do you have two right hands or not? Either way, we need you to connect pipes, glue, saw, drill and lay pipes. Those pipes sound amazing too! Together with the other job sounds, they make great music to dance to.

It is a feast to see how people build in BOUT! A dance performance in which you play along and don't want to stop doing chores. And at the end, we create a big chain reaction. The handyman is born!

schrit_tmacher Family Day

The schrit_tmacher Family Day has become a much-loved tradition within the festival. This year, the day will take place on Sunday 7 March 2027 at Theater Heerlen. Between 10:00 & 17:00, families can enjoy inspiring dance performances, participate in dance & creative workshops and other activities.

You don't need a ticket to visit the fringe programming. So all families can make their steps to the theatre full of dance.
